    On Thanksgiving Day we trekked seven kilometers into the mountains near Chiang Khong (Thailand) to a waterfall. Yves pointed out plants and animals along the way. The only other person we saw was a Hmong hunter.

The average Lao lives on less than $2 a day. In the northern mountains, villagers often have little access to clean water, sanitation, or health care. Kajsiab Family is a small grassroots initiative with a combination of Hmong and Western perspectives on education, healthcare, and women’s issues. Kajsiab is seeking to improve the lives and health of some of the poorest people in the country. Read more here.
